Jack Wikle introduced me to bonsai. He was my first teacher and became my life-long mentor. He instilled in me an appreciation and a disciple for the art of bonsai.
Jack inspires an enthusiasm for the art. He is meticulous in his approach. His lessons and his approach are foundational not only for the trees, but also for the enthusiast.
Work sessions with Jack are always a joy, so much learning, so much back and forth. It is these debates that help crystalize one’s own approach to the art.
Working together with Jack has allowed me to refine trees to a national level, exhibiting at each biennial National Exhibition since 2012.
Working with Jack has taught me that it is not all about the trees. It is the camaraderie, the sharing of wisdom, that working together for a common goal that is most valuable.
