OUR INVITATION: “HONORED GUEST BONSAI DISPLAY”
Have your favorite bonsai prominently displayed at Hidden Lake Gardens.
Hidden Lake Gardens and the Jack Wikle Bonsai Legacy Fund extend this invitation to all bonsai artists. To have your tree/trees considered for an 11- day display encompassing 2 weekends, use the button below to open and submit an Application for Consideration form and more detailed information.
The “Honored Guest Bonsai” display at HLG is expected to be ongoing and will showcase bonsai at many levels of involvement and accomplishment long into the future.
All applications will be acknowledged and applicants will be notified of their acceptance status.
Receipt of application acknowledgements, acceptance decisions, and notifications of acceptance status will be made in order applications are received and/or onsite evaluations take place.
PLEASE FILL OUT AND SUBMIT:
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL ALSO NEED TO:
• Select time slot for their display (choice of dates still open in current or coming years)
• Do their best to deliver and pick up their exhibit bonsai in a timely manner; delivery on Thursday and pick up on Monday between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Provide poster information, subject to editing, a paragraph or two, about the exhibitor’s background as a bonsai enthusiast and about the bonsai history of the tree/trees being exhibited (Note: “Last minute” tree substitution if necessary may affect poster quality.)
• Sign an acknowledgement of understanding that the HLG staff will do their best to give guest bonsai the same attention they give the Gardens’ bonsai, but the Gardens can accept no monetary obligation for damage or loss.
MONETARY SUPPORT:
Applicants are encouraged to consider accompanying their submissions with a donation to the Jack Wikle Bonsai Legacy Fund in support of Guest Bonsai Display and of maintenance of bonsai in the Hidden Lake Gardens Collection. A $35 donation suggested; larger donations greatly appreciated.
