My five decade long involvement with bonsai has allowed me to meet many talented artists and teachers. None more so than Michigan’s Jack Wikle. It began in the 1980’s as Jack slowly revealed the contents of his “magical/mysterious” traveling beer cooler to the members of the Minnesota Bonsai Society. The contents therein proved amazing and ignited a fire in our love of bonsai which still burns today.
Jack is an accomplished and gifted bonsai artist in addition to being a quiet, gentle teacher, who asks not that you conform, but that you only consider the possibilities. His love and dedication go without saying and his pioneering techniques for indoor bonsai are practiced around the globe. I urge your support for the bonsai garden at Hidden Lake, not only as a testament to this very gifted man but as an affirmation of the art form he loves.
